A client of mine inspired this piece. She fell in love with the Sargassum hair pieces, but having short hair, meant we had to come up with a new way of wearing my designs. 
 
This statement brass pin pays tribute to the Heliconia, a striking plant seen in gardens all over the island. Its vertical arrangement of bracts suit the poised position of a hat pin pefectly.
 
Each bract has been shaped through hammering and bending before being soldered to the stem.
 
8.5 inches total length.
2 inches at widest point.
 
Handmade in brass with silver solder.
