Bougainvillea is unashamedly over-the-top with its showers of vibrant floral clusters cascading down walls and fences all over the island. The flowers themselves are in fact small and delicate, protected by their colourful overlapping bracts.

I’ve had fun translating this gorgeous tropical vine into brass, enjoying creating the finer elements that unite to become an eye-catching piece of wearable, botanical art.

Sea Island Cotton has been hand-dyed with locally sourced Sea Grapes to give it a gorgeous dusky pink hue before being braided and fixed to the brass.
